Royal Purple Raceway Expanding

At this time last year, Royal Purple Raceway was expanding with a new Top Eliminator Club hospitality building, and in 2011 their expansion is focused on sales staff.  Royal Purple Raceway, located in Baytown, Texas, is currently seeking to add a full-time Sponsorship Sales Associate. 


Royal Purple Raceway (formerly known as Houston Raceway Park) is expanding their facilities and several programs, creating the need for a new sales associate. The candidate must be an energetic and motivated employee. It is preferred that he/she possess a bachelor’s degree (at minimum) from an accredited college, have a background in motorsports and necessary sales experience.

The Sales Associate will be actively involved in the dragstrip as well as the Speedway (dirt track).  Duties will include coordination of sales for tower suites, major sign advertising at the track, creating activation programs for existing and new sponsors, corporate hospitality programs, and group sales.

Seth Angel, General Manager and co-owner of Royal Purple Raceway, adds, "Next year we'll celebrate our 25th Anniversary season and we're getting ready to roll out some new, exciting programs around that (event) later this year, so the addition of a Sales Associate will help facilitate some of those programs with our sponsors and hopefully attract new ones (sponsors) to Royal Purple Raceway and the sport of drag racing in Houston." 

Major events that the facility holds each year include the annual O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals, ADRL Season Opener, Super Chevy Show, NMRA/NMCA Lonestar Shootout, the American Drag Racing League (ADRL) Dragpalooza, the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, the American Sprint Car Series, and the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).  The facility also host many non-motorsports functions on the 500 acre property.

"Our business is growing, our marketing partnerships are expanding and therefore the need for additional support in our business development department is increasing," added Angel.

This qualified candidate will report directly to the Director of Business Development, Fern Davis.
