Demolition Derby, Fireworks Show to cap Texas Outlaw Fireworks ASCS Sprint Car Summer Nationals

Officials with Royal Purple Raceway announced the addition of a Demolition Derby to the annual Texas Outlaw Fireworks ASCS Sprint Car Summer Nationals, June 18. The Demolition Derby, will take place in the infield of the Speedway, topping off a full night of high octane racing on the fastest ¼ mile high-banked dirt oval Speedway in Southeast Texas. 

The annual Texas Outlaw Fireworks ASCS Sprint Car Summer Nationals, the most popular Speedway event on the 2011 racing calendar, will feature the outlawed-winged Sprints of the American Sprint Car Series Gulf South Region, an explosive Fireworks presentation, and now a smash and crash Demolition Derby.

“Our team at Royal Purple Raceway continues to create exciting events and additions to our racing schedule to retain our growing fan base and attract new ones to the sport of Dirt racing,” said Seth Angel, General Manager. “The Demolition Derby is sure to be a fan favorite at our Texas Outlaw Fireworks night.  Sprint Cars, a Demolition derby, and Fireworks, it just doesn’t get any better than this.”

Spectator Gates open Saturday, June 18, at 6 p.m. with green flag racing beginning at 7 p.m. Racers will be competing in two classes: ASCS Gulf South Sprints and ASCS mini-sprints. The Demolition Derby will start the halftime activities and will be followed by the A-main feature races and a spectacular $20,000 Fireworks show, courtesy of Texas Outlaw Fireworks.

Royal Purple Raceway is located 25 miles east of downtown Houston off Interstate-10. Take Exit #799 (SH 99 Grand Parkway) and go South to FM 565 (1st exit). Take a right at FM 565 and Royal Purple Raceway is located on your right side. The Speedway entrance is located at Gates 3 and 4.
