The Green Hornet's Black Beauty in the RP Booth at SEMA |
This year our booth featured The Green Hornet's iconic car Black Beauty. The car is a replica of a 1965 Crown Imperial, and is #27 of the 29 cars that were used in the film. The Green Hornet Tour is crossing the country with Royal Purple as a presenting sponsor. Other stops on the tour include the LA Auto Show, Tampa Auto Show and International Auto Show in Detroit. In addition to the car, also on display was a customized Harley Davidson V-Rod Muscle. The feature film The Green Hornet with Seth Rogen in the title role will be released Jan. 14, 2011.
SEMA is the Specialty Equipment Market Association and the SEMA Show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world. It is not open to the public, but for those lucky enough to get credentials, being at the show is a bucket list item waiting to be checked off, and a dream come true. It's hard to really put into words what you will see at the SEMA Show. The show is massive, filling every available space in the main convention center, North and South halls and outside parking lots. It is the sights, sounds and yes even the smells of a new car prototype or rubber burning on the outside track.
The SEMA Show is thousands of people, from the exhibitors and their crews working the booths to the buyers, media conducting interviews and enthusiasts strolling the aisles. There are freebies to be collected, people taking photos of everything from every angle, and celebrities like Funkmaster Flex, Travis Pastrana, Courtney Hansen and Chip Foose making booth appearances, posing for photos and signing autographs. It's a display of the newest products and technology for your vehicle inside and out. Most of all, it's the huge array of vehicles on display: luxury sports cars, hot rods, muscle cars, off-road trucks and buggies, motorcycles, monster trucks, prototypes, classic cars. If you can drive it, at least one is there.
Thanks to everyone on the Royal Purple and Green Hornet Tour team that made our booth at SEMA such a success!
