Royal Bird eBay Auction to Benefit Hot Rodders Children's Charity


Royal Purple has always embraced the importance of corporate giving to charitable organizations. Last year Royal Purple designated The Wounded Warriors Project and Hot Rodders Children’s Charity organizations as the focus of the company’s charitable efforts for 2011. July 2-3 on PowerblockTV, Royal Purple’s Executive Vice President Mark McFann and host Courtney Hansen will announce the Royal Bird eBay auction that will benefit the Hot Rodders Children’s Charity.

Following Royal Purple’s sponsorship of the second build of PowerblockTV’s new series Search & Restore, Royal Purple’s Executive Vice President Mark McFann was inspired to continue in the giving spirit by offering the Royal Purple 1969 Pontiac Firebird for auction. The Firebird was originally built on Horsepower TV.

The first generation Firebird was produced by General Motors’ Pontiac Division between 1967 and 1969, sharing the same platform as the Chevrolet Camaro. Modifications on the 1969 Royal Purple Firebird to date are the following:

•    474 c.i. all aluminum engine from Butler Performance
•    TCI 700- r4 auto trans
•    Currie 9” with 35-spline axles
•    Baer Brakes with hydraboost
•    Edelbrock Performer RPM Pontiac heads
•    Edelbrock Performer RPM  intake
•    Edelbrock 800 carb
•    American Racing Torq Thrust II wheels (17x8 front, 18x10 rear) wrapped in Yokohama rubber
•    Driveshaft by the Driveline Shop
•    Flowmaster Exhaust
•    Flaming River steering column and joints
•    Fuel tank from Ricks Hot Rod Shop/ equipped with Aeromotive pumps and filters
•    Full Hotchkis Suspension
•    Afco fan and radiator
•    Lizardskin ceramic insulation inside and underneath
•    QuickShift shifter boot and pedals
•    A/C by Hot Rod Air
•    Russell lines and fittings
•    Dougs headers
•    Kicker sound system
•    Year One interior, body trim and lights
•    Recaro seats
•    Paint- Hillbilly Graphics, Erin, TN
